Halloween Celebration And It’s History | BayanMall

Halloween had just been celebrated by millions of people in different countries. I’m sure kids enjoy doing trick-or-treat activity. Somehow, it’s a good feeling to taste the juiciness or the sweetness of candies. It feels like being a kid again. For adults, they are busy dressing up costumes to be able to attend Halloween parties. If you are a parent, you are totally responsible in decorating and making a jack-o’-lanterns to make your house look creepy. If you consider yourself as a mischievous person, then it’s your day to make pranks and scared everyone. But don’t do it as much, you don’t want to kill a person through a heart attack. While others, observe this occasion by simply telling frightening stories and watching horror films.

In spite of these activities, have you ask yourself what is Halloween? Where it came from? Most of all, why celebrate it? We all know that Halloween is celebrated on the evening of October 31st. Before, it was known as All Hallows’ Eve, Allhalloween, or All Saints’ Eve. When November 1 comes, all Christians honors all saints and martyrs. This started on Celtic tribe which Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe came from. The Celtic tribe commemorates the feast of Samhain, the lord of death. It is believed that Samhain assembles all the evil spirits who had died the previous year and allows them to return home to visit the living. To pacify the evil spirits, the living  offers food, nuts, or any treats so that they will not be tricked.

We celebrate Halloween because it is fun to do so, especially for kids. Sometimes, it is good to dress up like monsters, zombies, vampires, witches, ghosts and creepy costume you imagined. It is also a good time to mingle with other people. Plus, it is a good way to show your generosity in giving treats. If you miss celebrating Halloween this year, then be prepared next time.
